bearing Emperor Huizong s signature, is presently preserved in the Palace Museum in Beijing. It is considered to be one of the most brilliant works in Chinese art history. As a genre painting, it focuses on themes related to daily life, depicting the hustle and bustle in the early twelfth-century city of Bianjing (modern-day Kaifeng), then the capital of Northern Song Dynasty, as its citizens celebrate the Qingming Festival.
