Political Targeting, Second Edition
In 1995, Hal Malchow used the first microtargeting techniques to help Ron Wyden win his special election for the U.S. Senate. Since that time, MSHC Partners has continued that work and today is the only political communications firm with a full-time Targeting Department doing advanced modeling. The New Political Targeting was published in 2003 to bring microtargeting to campaigns nationwide. Since that time these techniques have been widely adopted by campaigns, political parties and interest groups throughout America. Now, Hal Malchow has written a new, expanded edition that shares new developments in the targeting fields and provides explanations for the average campaign about more advanced microtargeting techniques. Malchow offers new data to help predict candidate support, voter persuadability, turnout and the audiences that will respond to the messages most often used in politics today. The second edition of Political Targeting comes complete with a program to help you find your ideal targets and determine the most efficient means of communicating with them..

Thermal comfort and energy saving of a personalized PFCU air-conditioning system [An article from: Energy & Buildings]
This digital document is a journal article from Energy & Buildings, published by Elsevier in 2005. The article is delivered in HTML format and is available in your Amazon.com Media Library immediately after purchase. You can view it with any web browser. Description: This paper evaluates the performance of a personalized air-conditioning system, namely an innovative partition-type fan-coil unit (PFCU), against that of a central air-conditioning system, in terms of their thermal comfort provided and cooling energy consumed. For a cooling load given, it is found that the thermal comfort index (PMV) resulted from the personalized system is always lower than that from a central system. Also, the PMV-curve of the personalized system responds to the loads faster. The experimental results indicate that the personalized system, as compared to the central system, can shorten the operation time for the same level of thermal comfort required and save up to 45% of the energy consumed by the central system. As regards thermal comfort, the experiment with a thermal manikin substrates the PFCU design for its considerable reduction of the cold draft. .
