Written by Lew Wallace (April 10, 1827 – February 15, 1905) who was a lawyer, governor of New Mexico at the time of the shoot out at the OK Coral a Union General in the American Civil War under General Grant, an American statesman, and the author, best remembered for his historical novel "Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ".
