New study finds blacks acquitted more often than whites.: An article from: Trial
This digital document is an article from Trial, published by Association of Trial Lawyers of America on January 1, 1997. The length of the article is 754 words. The page length shown above is based on a typical 300-word page. The article is delivered in HTML format and is available in your Amazon.com Digital Locker immediately after purchase. You can view it with any web browser. From the supplier: A study of Bureau of Justice Statistics data on state felony cases filed in the 75 largest US counties found that blacks on trial for most felonies were acquitted more often than whites. With some felonies the racial differences were small, while some had a much larger difference between the races. The most disparate result came with rape, with 83% of black defendants who were tried for rape being acquitted and only 24% of the white defendants having that result. These results could have been skewed by factors such as the small sample sizes. Citation DetailsTitle: New study finds blacks acquitted more often than whites.
